A driver had to be cut free from a wrecked car on southbound I-95 near mile marker 77 in Harford County Thursday afternoon.

What happened: Firefighters arrived around 4 p.m. to find a car that needed to be secured before crews could reach the person inside. Workers braced the vehicle to keep it from moving, then used hydraulic rescue tools — sometimes called the “jaws of life” — to remove the roof and pull the driver out.

What’s new: The patient was handed over to emergency medical crews for evaluation and transport. No condition update was available.

The path forward: No further details about the crash, including what caused it or how many vehicles were involved, have been released.
