Anyone near Bynum Run should continue to avoid the water between the July 29 pipe failure and Wheel Road through Thursday. The warning covers wading, swimming and other direct contact.

What changed: Water samples collected Aug. 10 led the Harford County Health Department to extend the warning in that area. Signs downstream of Wheel Road may now be removed.

Where the warning applies: A map added Thursday marks the start and end of the affected area along the waterway.

The timeline: Signs were placed along Bynum Run and its connecting waterways after the July 29 sewage overflow. Heavy rain and runoff followed during the next week, and an Aug. 5 update kept the warning in place through Thursday.

What happens next: The Health Department will keep testing the water and provide updates when needed.
