A 19-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in Edgewood Sunday night, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office. His injuries were not life-threatening.

What happened: Deputies went to the 700 block of Court Square Drive after someone reported a shooting about 8:30 p.m. They found the man with what the sheriff’s office described as a gunshot wound to his lower body.

Medical care: Deputies gave the man first aid until medics arrived. The medics then took him to a Baltimore-area trauma center for more treatment.

Where the shooting happened: The sheriff’s office said its early investigation points to the 1700 block of Hanson Road as the site of the shooting.

The investigation: Detectives searched the surrounding area for witnesses and more information. Specialists also gathered physical evidence.

Detectives are trying to identify possible suspects and determine why the shooting happened. The sheriff’s office said the shooting appears to be isolated, based on the investigation so far.
