Drivers on Magnolia Road in Joppa found the road shut down in both directions Wednesday morning after a dump truck flipped over in a crash, bringing down power lines in the process.
What’s happening: The crash happened on Magnolia Road, also known as Route 152, between Trimble Road and Fort Hoyle Road in Joppa. The road was blocked while crews cleared the scene. Firefighters from the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company responded to the crash.
What this means for you: Downed power lines from the crash mean some homes and businesses in the area may lose electricity. Drivers who normally use Magnolia Road between Trimble and Fort Hoyle roads will need to find another route until the road reopens.
The path forward: BGE crews are on the way to fix the downed power lines. The road is expected to stay closed until the truck is removed and the lines are repaired.
