Three suspects have been arrested after a multi-state investigation into the theft of a 1947 Martin D-28 acoustic guitar from Music Land in Bel Air, according to the Bel Air Police Department.

The guitar, valued at about $15,000, has not been recovered.

What’s Happening: Investigators say four people stole the guitar from Music Land, 200 Gateway Drive, on Feb. 3. The arrests followed coordination with agencies in several states, and the suspects are now going through the extradition process to Maryland.

What’s Important: Detectives are still trying to locate and recover the stolen guitar.

What We Know: The theft happened at about 8:20 p.m. Feb. 3, when four people entered the store and took the guitar, authorities said. Three of the four suspects were identified by Feb. 27, and arrest warrants were obtained for all three.

Suspects identified: Two adult suspects were identified as Ionut Kenzo Stoica, 18, and Milescu Alexa Teodora, 19, both of Roselle, New Jersey. A third identified suspect is a juvenile from Middlesex, New Jersey; Maryland law does not allow the juvenile’s identity to be released.

Arrest and extradition: Three suspects connected to the investigation were apprehended March 11 by the Greenwich Police Department in Connecticut, authorities said. Extradition to Maryland is underway.

Agencies involved: The investigation involved coordination with law enforcement and private-sector partners, including agencies in Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, California, Connecticut, Washington, Pennsylvania, and federal law enforcement, police said.

What’s Still Unknown: Authorities have not released the charges, said whether the fourth person has been identified, or disclosed where the suspects were located before the March 11 arrests.

The Process: Extradition is the legal process that allows one state to send a person in custody to another state to face charges.
