What to Do: The health department listed five steps residents can take:
- Keep pets leashed on walks and monitored in the backyard.
- Make sure cats, dogs, and ferrets are up to date on rabies vaccinations through a vet or local clinic.
- Cover trash cans and do not leave pet food outside.
- Do not feed, pet, or interact with wildlife.
