Two men have been charged with rape after Aberdeen police found a young victim outside a motel and determined she had been sexually assaulted.
What Happened: Around 2:18 p.m. Saturday, officers found a girl outside a motel on Hospitality Way who appeared upset and in distress. After speaking with the girl, detectives were called in to investigate a possible sexual assault.
The Arrests: Jeofredo Andason Santos Bernal, 24, of Parkville, and Miguel De Jesus Pineda Lopez, 27, of Baltimore, were arrested during a traffic stop in Aberdeen. Both men face multiple felony charges, including rape and assault with a dangerous weapon.
The Search: Detectives obtained a search warrant and searched a location connected to the case. During the search, investigators found a handgun they believe was used in the assault.
The Victim: Police are not releasing any information about the victim due to the victim’s age and the nature of the crime.
