A barn and garage caught fire Friday morning in the 1200 block of Baldwin Mill Road in the Jarrettsville area.

What’s Happening: The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company led the response, with the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company sending two engine companies to help.

Crews worked to extinguish the fire and conduct overhaul — a process of checking for and eliminating hidden hot spots after the main flames are out.

What’s Important: One of the Bel Air engines arrived directly from a separate, active incident. A utility unit was also on scene to provide refreshments to firefighters.
