A Joppa resident was forced out of their home Saturday evening after a car fire spread through an attached garage and reached the second floor of the house in the 1000 block of Beall Drive.
What happened: Firefighters arrived within four minutes and found a vehicle burning with flames pushing into the garage and up to the second floor.
They got the fire under control before it spread further through the home. No one was hurt.
What’s happening now: The displaced adult is receiving help from Harford County Disaster Assistance, a county program that provides emergency support such as temporary shelter and basic necessities to residents who lose access to their homes.
