A dryer fire broke out Thursday afternoon in a home on Ferguson Road in the Joppatowne section of Joppa.

What happened: Firefighters arrived at a house in the 700 block of Ferguson Road to find smoke coming from the one-story home. They found the fire had started in a dryer and put it out quickly.

What we know: Two units responded, an engine and a ladder truck from the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.
