Harford County is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m. Thursday.

What’s happening: The watch covers all of Harford County.

What it means: Conditions are right for severe thunderstorms in or near the county. A watch does not mean every community will get a severe storm.

What to do: Keep track of weather alerts through Thursday evening. If the National Weather Service issues a severe thunderstorm warning, a severe storm has been reported or detected and residents should take shelter.

The path forward: Weather officials can cancel or extend the watch, or replace it with another alert, before 10 p.m.
